Built for the demands of defence supply
Defence contracts call for parts that match the specification every time, often in tough technical fabrics. Aeronaut cutters already produce parachutes, heavy canvas and PVC covers, inflatables and aramid parts for manufacturers worldwide. Our machines helped make the spacesuits and capsule parachutes for SpaceX Dragon, so we know what mission-critical cutting takes.
Parachutes & aerial delivery
Cut canopy panels, reinforcing tapes and containers accurately, with sealed edges that won’t fray.
Personal & protective equipment
Cut load-carrying pouches, packs, uniform components and aramid protective panels with consistent, clean edges.
Shelters & vehicle covers
Cut tents, shelters, camouflage covers and vehicle tarps in canvas and PVC, on tables wide and long enough for the biggest panels.

Flexible cutting systems for contract production
Defence work swings between prototypes, short runs and large orders. Aeronaut cutters are built to measure and can be extended in length later without a rebuild. Fit ultrasonic, blade, crease, punch and marking tools to one machine, so a single table can handle every contract.
Cut and seal in one pass
Ultrasonic tools seal synthetic edges as they cut, so nylon and aramid parts don’t fray and need no hemming. Sonotrode cooling and digital pressure control keep results steady over long runs.
Wide, heavy-duty tables
The Elektron Mono WS can be built up to 6.5 metres wide for shelters and vehicle covers. It is a heavy-duty machine made to keep working with minimal maintenance.
Marked, numbered parts
Inkjet printing adds part numbers and reference text to almost any fabric. Drill-punches mark eyelet and fitting positions in the same pass.
Less waste, full traceability
Autonesting packs parts tightly on the roll to save expensive material. Inkjet marking adds part numbers and orientation marks to every ply, so parts are easy to identify at layup.

World-class software that delivers for now and the future
Aeronaut develops its own software in-house. Tangent nests parts tightly to cut waste on costly technical fabrics and drives your cutter with simple, powerful controls. Rapid patterning and CAD plug-ins shorten design-to-cut time, and SiliconEye machine vision can trace and digitise a table full of existing patterns in seconds.
The Aeronaut Edge
From humble beginnings as an Australian family-owned and operated business, Aeronaut now partners with leading manufacturers all around the world. We use our extensive experience, portfolio of cutting machines and software solutions to deliver integrated solutions that grow your business. We deeply understand cutting technology and we’ll make sure you do, too.

World class end-to-end support & service
We listen to what you need and take a holistic systems approach to help you reach your goals.
Technical knowledge
From designing our own cutting machines to using software to help you solve manufacturing issues, our technical know-how is second to none.
Our Clients
We’ve worked with Aeronaut for over 24 years and have seen our capabilities grow alongside that time. We started with a single 20m x 4m plotting table, then added a second table as demand increased.
Frequently asked questions
Which cutting technology suits defence textiles?
It depends on the material. Ultrasonic tools seal synthetic edges and suit aramid and nylon. Rotary blades cut canvas, PVC and Cordura. Lasers cut and seal many synthetic textiles. Send us a sample and we will test-cut it.
Can one machine handle covers, shelters and personal equipment?
Yes. Quick-change Cam-lock and bayonet tools let one table switch between rotary blades, drag knives, creasers and drill-punches, so mixed contract work runs on a single cutter.
Can you cut long panels for shelters and vehicle covers?
Yes. Tables are made to measure in width and can be lengthened later without a rebuild. The Elektron Mono WS can be built up to 6.5 metres wide.
Can I mark part numbers on every piece?
Yes. Inkjet printing adds part numbers, markings and reference text to almost any fabric, so every piece is identified at assembly. [VERIFY any traceability claims with the product team]
